Research Collective Brainstorming Meeting #2

How come military spending is increasing and funding for hospitals, schools etc. is decreasing? What are the climate consequences of increased military spending, not only in terms of emissions but also in terms of mineral grabbing? And what power does the arms industry wield over politicians, trade unions, corporations and so on? Questions like these around what responses have there been to this shift and what area is lacking in awareness are crucial and pertinent.

Global Aktion would like to form a research collective whose objective it is to look into the arms industry’s influence in society, the militarization over the globe, what fuels it and what the impact of the military and arms spending is on climate change and extraction of minerals.

This will be our second meeting, but newcomers are very much welcome to join and participate!
